South Florida Rock Showdown has today announced band names and lineup for the 12 finalists competing for in this year’s event, which will be held from March 10 till March 14 at venues throughout South Florida. The twelve are: Oblivious Signal, The Romantix, West Lindy, Bonnie Riot, Bodhisattva, Yardij, Rambler, Day 4, Spoonbeach, Ovrhol, Soundglass and No Traffik.

Milan, Italy-based Tribe Guitars has signed on as the presenting sponsor for this year’s Rock Showdown. Founder and Master Luthier, Davide Garbujo, is a world-renowned artisan that has made custom guitars for all of Italy’s most well-known rock musicians and will present the winning band with  his Nashville model guitar.  The handcrafted detail in this exquisite model, made of steel and maple, along with its tonal balance, make the instrument a flagship piece for Tribe Guitars.

The winning band’s three-song EP will be recorded at Grammy-nominated, Miami-based Vanquish Studios, South Florida’s most advanced, state-of-the-art private recording studio with Joseph Salamida, CEO, Founder, Engineer and Producer.  Vanquish was chosen by Mix Magazine in 2009 as one of the “Year’s Coolest New Studios.”

Rock Showdown has also confirmed that nationally recognized Mixing / Recording Engineer and Studio Design Consultant Matt Knobel will mix the winning band’s EP.   Knobel set up rock legend Lenny Kravitz’s state-of-the-art private recording studio, guiding his equipment selections with his expertise on digital, high-tech gear that helpd Kravitz amp up his sound to a new level.  Their 10-year collaboration encompassed four consecutive Grammy Awards for Kravitz for Best Male Vocal Performance in the Rock category, as well as over 20 million global sales of Kravitz albums. Knobel’s involvement boosts the winning band’s chances of garnering national recognition for their EP.

Grammy-nominee Emily B. Lazar, president and chief mastering engineer of The Lodge in New York City will serve as Mastering Engineer for the winning band’s EP. She has worked on over 2,000 albums with major rock icons, including David Bowie, Foo Fighters, Lou Reed, Paul McCartney, Morrissey and Sonic Youth.

The 12 finalists will all benefit from the Showdown’s marketing and publicity, including promotion across social media using hashtags #TheSFRS, #SFRS2015 and #RockShowdown. The winner, however, will also receive professional promotional benefits to include a set of professional photographs taken during their studio recording session, a professional video and photos of their performance and graphic design services for their EP packaging and a $500 gift card from Sam Ash.
