Annual Fresh Fest in Downtown West Palm Beach

A contribution to WPB Magazine by Belen Woods

Break a sweat, eat clean and kick-start a healthier lifestyle during the Annual Fresh Fest on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Meyer Amphitheater in downtown West Palm Beach. Presented by Jackson Health Foundation, the free event features fitness classes ranging from yoga to cycling for children and adults, healthy food demonstrations, workshops, music, art and over 60 vendors.

In addition to popular programs such as an interactive Kid’s Kitchen, plant-based food prep demonstrations and fitness classes, new elements this year include water activities such as paddleboard yoga, an interactive art wall project, a partner relay water course and a paddleboard race clinic. Fitness classes are free and participants are encouraged to make a donation benefiting Jackson Health Foundation’s S.M.I.L.E. project, a meaningful campaign focused on sharing encouraging messages to sick children.

“Living a healthy lifestyle is so important, yet it can be hard to know where to begin… Fresh Fest offers one location for the perfect jumpstart!” said Branndi Lewis, Fresh Fest event producer and fitness instructor. “It doesn’t matter what age or stage you are with your health goals; the best time to make a change is today.”

Annual Fresh Fest in Downtown West Palm Beach

Lewis started this event in 2013 with the mission to create a gathering of like-minded individuals who share a passion for healthy living. Inspired by the atmosphere and offerings of the West Palm Beach Green Market, Fresh Fest has developed into an impressive lifestyle and fitness showcase. In 2015, the event featured special guest Dr. Oz and welcomed nearly 5,000 guests.

In addition to Jackson Health Foundation, a nonprofit geared toward making medical miracles happen daily, sponsors include: Whole Foods, KIND Healthy Snacks, Zico Coconut Water, Go Raw, The Jiva Shop, Hard Exercise Works, the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, Blueline Surf & Paddle Co., Miami Wellness Club, Ultima Fitness, Premier Choice Marketing and Raw Jūce.

The Meyer Amphitheater is located at 104 Datura Street in West Palm Beach. For more information, visit freshfestFL.com or the Facebook page, facebook.com/freshfestFL.
