The Palm Beach Zoo’s Big Cat 5K race 2019 took place, Saturday May 4th, and net proceeds from this run helped fund the Zoo’s partnership with Wildlife Conservation Society to protect animals in the wild.
This race also raised awareness about the conservation efforts to protect three big cats: the Florida panther, the Malayan tiger, and the jaguar. These species are so critically endangered and are vulnerable to just about every major threat – from habitat loss to cars and even feline diseases.
Participants along with local sponsors made possible that conservationists continue working hard to study these endangered big cats.
