A Unique Spot for Shopping, Eating, and People-watching

Something new for downtown West Palm Beach has arrived! The Thoroughfare is a pop-up, innovative market and retail hub where guests can shop from an eclectic group of merchants piloting unique concepts.

The Thoroughfare is located at 314 Clematis Street, the historic 1922 site of the original West Palm Beach Woolworth’s department store. A place to eat, meet, and shop, The Thoroughfare is a project under the partnership and sponsorship of the City of West Palm Beach, The West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, and the Knight Foundation. While the main building is being prepared to house a variety of local vendors and innovators, a pop-up market at the porch will feature familiar names like Oceana Coffee and Cider Donuts, two clothing stores, After5Lux and OddFellows, and GROW, a new company aimed to help people live more nature-centric lifestyles.

Another merchant is Dina’s Vegan Deli, offering plant-based cheesesteaks on the weekends. Meanwhile, newcomer and mother-daughter team Bubbly Boba brings classic Asian teas and drinks featuring tapioca pearls.

Designed to be an incubator for new businesses, each vendor in Thoroughfare will have individually set hours of operation with the majority open on Saturdays.

Local contributions to this project include design work by Adam Sheetz of No. 9 Creative, general contracting work from Ben Etheridge, owner of Steel Tie Spirits, and a fun social media scavenger hunt campaign designed by Andres Espinoza of Gamelab, located inside 1909. Designed to drive foot traffic to Thoroughfare, Espinoza’s scavenger hunt will consist of seven creative weekly challenges to engage teams and provide a fun experience of the Downtown district.

If you can’t resist the urge to do last-minute shopping, an unexpected invitation to meet friends over a delicious cup of coffee, The Thoroughfare is the place to hang out! It’s a unique environment for shopping, eating, and people-watching in downtown.
