The BillBone Olympic Triathlon is back for round two — and it’s bringing even more Olympic firepower to Palm Beach County.
Trial lawyer, cycling advocate, and local fixture Bill Bone will host the 2nd Annual BillBone Olympic Triathlon on Sunday, April 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Okeeheelee Park. After drawing hundreds of athletes and spectators to its inaugural race last spring, this year’s event ups the ante with three Olympic triathletes on the course.
Headlining the 2026 field is Kevin McDowell, a Team USA Olympian who earned a silver medal in the Mixed Relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. He’ll be joined by two familiar faces from last year’s race: Kirsten Kasper, who represented Team USA in the women’s triathlon at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and her husband, Matthew Sharpe, an Olympic triathlete for Canada and IRONMAN champion.
“The event continues to grow as a signature endurance race in Palm Beach County, drawing both competitive athletes and first-time participants,” Bone said. “Welcoming Kevin to this year’s lineup, along with Kirsten and Matt returning, builds on the incredible energy of last year and gives participants a rare opportunity to race alongside some of the best in the world.”
The USAT-sanctioned event offers race formats for athletes of all levels, including Olympic-distance and sprint triathlons, duathlons, aquabike, and relay divisions. The course features a swim in Waterski Park, a police-monitored bike course, and a shaded run through Okeeheelee Park. A complimentary breakfast follows the races for all participants and spectators.
Race weekend kicks off early with an exclusive Meet & Greet Cocktail Party on Friday, April 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bill Bone Bike Law, 475 Hibiscus Street in downtown West Palm Beach. The event is open to registered participants and offers a chance to mingle with McDowell, Kasper, and Sharpe before race day. RSVP is required as part of the race registration process.
