On April 6, West Palm Beach will witness an electrifying fusion of athleticism, community, and Olympic prestige at the inaugural BillBone Olympic Triathlon. Set against the scenic backdrop of Okeeheelee Park, the race is the brainchild of Bill Bone, a prominent trial lawyer, cycling advocate, and longtime champion of fitness and community engagement. But this isn’t just another triathlon—this is an opportunity for participants to go head-to-head with two world-class Olympians.

Joining the competition are Kirsten Kasper, a 2024 Paris Olympian who represented Team USA in the Women’s Triathlon, and her husband, Matthew Sharpe, a Tokyo 2020 Olympian and IRONMAN Champion for Canada. Their presence elevates the event to an international stage, offering local athletes and enthusiasts the unique thrill of racing alongside elite competitors.

“It was a privilege to watch her race,” says Bone, recalling his time at the Paris Olympics. “I was inspired by her energy and knew I wanted to bring that Olympic spirit here. Kirsten and Matt are world-class athletes and incredible people. We’re honored to have them compete in our inaugural event.”

A Course Designed for Champions

The BillBone Olympic Triathlon features a professionally designed Olympic-distance course, meticulously planned to challenge and inspire:

  • A refreshing swim in Waterski Park, where participants will navigate the open water in a test of endurance and strategy.
  • A fast-paced cycling segment, escorted by Palm Beach State Officers, ensuring both safety and a competitive edge.
  • A scenic, shaded run through Okeeheelee Park, where athletes will push through their final miles under the canopy of towering palms.

To fuel the experience, all participants and spectators will enjoy a complimentary breakfast, a perfect way to cap off an exhilarating morning.

The triathlon isn’t just about race day—it’s a full weekend celebration of endurance, camaraderie, and inspiration. On Friday, April 4: Meet & Greet Cocktail Party (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.) – Athletes and fans will have the rare opportunity to connect with Kasper and Sharpe at Bill Bone Bike Law in West Palm Beach.

Saturday, April 5: Pre-Race Warm-Up (7:30 a.m.) – A casual run-swim-run training session with the Olympians kicks off from LC Tri Shop Boutique, leading to a scenic beach swim and light breakfast. Cyclists can meet up at the Worth Avenue Clock Tower by 8:00 a.m.

More Than a Race—A Community Movement

For Bill Bone, this event is about more than just crossing the finish line. “This is more than a race,” he emphasizes. “It’s about bringing people together around fitness, competition, and community.”

From elite competitors to first-time triathletes, the BillBone Olympic Triathlon welcomes all, embodying the spirit of endurance, perseverance, and the joy of movement.
